Lets meet Mrs Akpon,CEO Ochuoleofficial 

Let me just share this with us.....

They say Jack of all trade, master of none....I am one person who does not agree with that statement oh! Because I love learning and it has never gone wrong

So in my Ss1, we did a lot of experiments after which I started producing Black Shoe polish for the house, perfumes, alcohol(methylated Spirit). I taught myself how to sew using a sewing machine that was in the house, I remember removing it from the cartoon and after breaking all the needles...I started making clothes for myself and my dad( he will just wear anything just to encourage me).... when they saw my seriousness they allowed me to go and learn during one of the strike(I was in year 2 at the University),  I learnt for one month and the strike was called off. I had to go back to School..but that was enough as I started sewing and collecting money from any and everyone. Although I keep on updating because fashion evolves a lot.

I would usually watch my dad bake bread for us to eat, but I wanted more such that I watched a neighbour bake cake over the fence. The first cake I baked was like akpu(packet shirt) very strong. I just kept on doing trial and error till my international class on cake making. As such confectionery became a passion for me and what I still do till date. There are people will not buy cake anywhere unless I bake for them. How about supplies to Companies and the rest.

My friends call me 21 jobs. They sometimes tease me that I should go and rent the whole of Shoprite....they are not wrong because anywhere I see training I run and attend. Right now, we do not buy soap, whether for bathing or for washing. Because I make liquid soap which We use for washing clothes, plates, mopping etc. 25 litres serves us for almost 3 months,  bleach,  disinfectant, scurring powder. I also supply to clients(Okay my first degree na B.Sc Chemistry so you know why)

In NYSC, I bought the machine and spent my spare time learning and weaving sweaters, babies socks, trousers, handkerchiefs,  Oja( used to back babies). Made money from it even after service....most schools usually use those cardigans. 

From 2015 till date, I have learnt how to make Pure organic soaps and cream made from natural products. 

I have learnt and make shoes, bags, purses, beads, wire works, hats, fascinators, turbanators, duvets, bedsheets, Sanitizers, etc. Let me stop here for now. 

The thing is if you see anywhere they are teaching something, call me and Hannah would surface. That was and is what I tell my friends, so they know me and some of these skills costs money, especially the ones I really decide to further. While some others I go free or with little money...the thing is when people see that you are interested and willing they go all out to assist you. This I would say happened when I was doing my internship in FIIRO after my Masters in Sustainable development...I got a lot of blueprints, close to  10 businesses which I learnt for free. You might be wondering what is wrong with this lady but don't worry. Who knew that I was going to start a fashion  outlet today? Just gather the skills and don't think you are wasting your time because you never know when you will use it.

Don't let people discourage you, if an amount for a training is too much you can get people of like minds, share the money amongst yourself and let one person who is smart go on your behalf. The person will debrief you later on....trust me I have done that 2 persons here will testify to it. But at least try to get a skill, don't say it's for poor people. If you are not going to do business yet, at least don't go and dash someone that money, save it(abeg, don't hate me oh...I am not spoiling any body business oh🙏🏽I just mean well for us). I have been blessed by people who counselled me(topmost is my dad, I know what he was able to achieve by simply using wisdom and doing things himself).

When I opened my Shop I came to this platform and requested for one person whom I could train in fashion designing. The person was not to pay anything but just get his or her things for practicals. But to my utmost surprise, not even one person from this platform contacted me, not even one. To say I was shocked is an understatement, infact till today I still dey wonder. Maybe people thought it was a scam. Anyways, that offer has left the table oh mbok. After we would say Catholics  dont help  themselves, it is only protestants and muslims that are United.
